Walking Safaris
“Big thanks to Tarakwai for organizing a great trip I will never forget. The walking safari in the wild, seeing the animals without a shield of a car was priceless! The local guide Ahmidiwe shared his valuable knowledge about the animals, the plants and the symbiotic relationship.”

Exclusive Walking Adventure
We aim to incorporate walking experiences into our itineraries whenever feasible. These range from short ethnobotanical nature walks to longer ranger-led safaris in national parks. These experiences are optional, and before offering them, we ensure discussions with our clients to ensure everyone is well-informed and understands the safety measures in place. All our guides are extensively trained and highly competent in leading walks. Ranger-led walks are conducted in areas devoid of large cats or other predators, further ensuring safety.
Encountering wildlife like giraffes and zebras when walking is exhilarating. Even discovering smaller creatures often overlooked from a vehicle, such as a leopard tortoise, a tiny dik-dik, or a dung beetle maneuvering a dung ball much larger than itself, brings moments of delight.
Walking allows you to witness a variety of life unfolding before you, from Maasai women gathering water to the distant chime of cowbells at dusk as herders bring their cattle home.
You gain insights into the ecosystem from both scientific and indigenous perspectives, exploring medicinal plants, sacred ritual sites, and learning to identify various animal tracks.
